Community Fridge Initiative is a free, non-commercial SMS information service operated by students at NYU Tisch ITP. By texting our number, you receive a single automated message containing a link to FridgeFinder.app — a resource for locating community fridges in New York City.

This service is not affiliated with FridgeFinder.app, any community fridge operator, or any mutual aid organization.

You see our number displayed on a public art projection in DUMBO, Brooklyn
You voluntarily text the number to request information about nearby fridges
You receive one automated reply with a link to FridgeFinder.app
No further messages will be sent to you
You are not enrolled in any subscription or recurring messaging program

💬 Messaging & Rates

This service is free to use. However, standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply. We do not charge any fees for this service.
